Rachel Kranitz
I have been admitted to practice since 2002 and I focus in the areas of criminal defense and
matrimonial and family law. In 1995 I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a
Bachelor of Arts degree and obtained my Juris Doctor from U.B. Law School in 2001.
Between college and law school, I worked in customer service for three years for a local
electronics company.
I have appeared in almost every criminal court in Western New York from local village and
town courts to federal court. I have handled many different types of cases, anything from
traffic tickets, to DWIs to drug possession cases and sex offense cases. With respect to my
matrimonial and family law practice, I have represented individuals on child support,
custody, neglect and paternity matters and have handled both simple and complex
matrimonial matters. I have trial experience in both the criminal law and matrimonial and
family law areas of practice.
I come from a long line of self-employed entrepreneurs and have an ingrained sense of
customer service that I bring to my practice. My experience in customer service after
college impressed upon me the importance of communication with clients. I pride myself on
keeping my clients informed as to the status of their case and take care to explain both the
pros and cons of the arguments and strategies essential to their case. I believe that a
close working relationship with the client is the key to the zealous advocacy that each client
deserves.
I was raised in Niagara Falls, New York and currently live in an improving area of the West
Side of Buffalo where I am active in my local block club. In addition, I am a board member of
the Holocaust Resource Center of Buffalo which educates and raises awareness among
Western New York student about the Holocaust and racial genocide. I also participate as a
Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County. I look forward to a long and
successful career here in Western New York.
